Byron I. “Bud” Harris, 79, of Kennett Square, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at his residence.

Born in Newport, ME, Bud was the son of the late Philip and Jean (Culleton) Harris. He was the husband of Cathy Harris, who had passed away in 2013.

When he moved to Pennsylvania, he was employed as a mechanic by Sloan Motors in Exton. Afterwards, he was employed as a mechanic at Herb Richards, Inc. in Kennett Square for over 30 years until his retirement. Bud was an avid NASCAR fan. Bud also enjoyed drinking his Old Milwaukee beer after a long workday. He was also a member of American Legion Bourque –Lanigan Post #5, Waterville, ME.

Bud is survived by his children: Deborah Reardon, wife of Greg, of Honey Brook, Suzanne Harris-Leps, and her companion Rich Burns, of Malvern, and Brandon Harris, husband of Jennifer of Coatesville; step-son: Richard Grubb Jr. of Kennett Square; sisters: Joyce Thompson, wife of the late John Thompson, and Bonnie Drouin, wife of John Drouin; 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents Bud was preceded in death by his daughter: Rebecca Harris; brother: David Harris, husband of the late Dottie Harris; sister: Elaine Wilson, wife of the late Harold Wilson.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. Dupont Hwy., New Castle, DE.
