Carl Wayne Mentz, 71, of Glenmoore, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at his home. He was the significant other of Cecelia Jamison, of which they shared 12 years of happiness.
Born in Scranton, on March 23, 1949, he was a son of the late Carl and Margaret (Bedford) Mentz. Carl graduated from North Pocono High School and continued his education at Penn State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising in 1971. He dedicated his career to the Farm Journal, retiring in 2016 as the Vice President of Circulation.
In his spare time, Carl enjoyed traveling around the US with S.C.O.F. (Superperformance Car Owner’s Forum). He spent many years watching drag racing and collecting classic cars. Carl took pleasure in target shooting and did not have to leave home for practice.
In addition to Cecelia, Carl is survived by his sons, David Mentz and Carl Mentz; Cecelia’s children, Donald and Deborah Rozette, Douglas and Rose Jamison and Toby and Lori Lefever; nephews William Mentz and Eugene Mentz; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, William Mentz and Cecelia’s daughter, Christine Carboni.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm on July 15 2020, at James J. Terry Funeral Home, 1060 W. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville, PA, where a memorial service will begin at 2:45 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Carl’s memory to the Salvation Army, 101 E Market St, West Chester, PA 19382.
