David R. "Hipper" Hipp

David R. “Hipper” Hipp, 68, of Downingtown, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.  He was the husband of Lois (Bickings) Hipp, sharing 47 years of marriage.
Born in Wichita, Kansas on September 2, 1953, he was the son of the late Billy and Ruth (Kitchens) Hipp. Hipper graduated from Unionville High School and went on to be a 3rd generation Machinist. Following his retirement, he kept busy with many Machinist projects and new ideas. He loved to golf, bowl, play softball, and enjoyed fishing. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Lois are his children Wesley D. Hipp, husband of Kelly, of Coatesville, Samantha Hipp Oberholtzer, wife of Robert, of Coatesville and Benjamin D. Hill of New Mexico (Air Force); grandson, Alexander Oberholtzer; siblings James Hipp, husband of Victoria Dow, Diane Ray and Carl Hipp; brother-in-law Herb Bickings, husband of Laura; and very close friend Chester Eagles. He was preceded in death by his son Jason R. Hipp.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Sunday, January 16, 2022 from 4 PM – 6 PM at James Terry Funeral Home, 736 E Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335.  An additional viewing will be held Monday morning, January 17th from 9:45 AM – 10:45 AM at the funeral home, prior to the service at 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Lois Hipp (12 Edward Drive, Coatesville, PA 19320) to help defray funeral costs.
