Tribute

George Cindrich, 92, of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, husband to Dorothy Cindrich, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 26, 2021.

Born on April 20, 1929 in Aliquippa, PA, George was a son of the late Joseph and Doris (Valentich) Cindrich. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers: Michael, Nick, Frank and John.


George served in the United States Airforce and was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked at J & L/LTV Steel for 39 years and then as a security guard for 20 years before his retirement. He was a devoted husband to wife Dorothy, and together they celebrated 70 years of marriage this past July. George was an avid reader, woodworker, spent many hours working puzzles, and enjoyed the outdoors. He was a beloved father and grandfather and a member of St. Titus Catholic Church and Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Aliquippa, PA and St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Chester County, PA.

George will be dearly missed by his wife Dorothy; children, Georgann Cindrich and husband, Joe Howard of Glenmoore, PA and Stephen Cindrich and wife, Sharon of Columbus, Ohio; as well as his four grandchildren: Sarah and Hannah Howard, and Madeleine and Henry Cindrich.  He is also survived by his two sisters, Ann Pitcher and Rosemarie Cindrich along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 8:45 a.m. with a funeral Mass following at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Chester Springs PA.    A visitation will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Aliquippa, PA. on Friday, October 1 at 9:00 a.m.  followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m.  George will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Hopewell Township.  A luncheon will follow at the Fez.

The family would like to thank the hospice department, nurses, doctors and staff at Paoli Hospital for their loving care of George.   Donations can be made to the Henrietta Hankin Library in Chester Springs, PA.
