James S. Fetters, 90, of Glenmoore, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Tel Hai Retirement Community.  He was the beloved husband of the late Shirley Gabriel Fetters, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2018.

Born in Birchrunville, he was the son of the late Roger Townsend and Sarah Hall Fetters.

Jim served in the Air Force during the Korean War; stationed in Korea and Japan as a crew chief for the 49th Fighter Bomber Group.

After leaving the Air Force, he worked as a heavy equipment operator, first for his brother Richard and then for Robert (R.W. Fetters, Inc.) until retiring.  He loved “playing in the dirt” and continued to work long into his 70’s.

He served on the Wallace township planning commission.

In his free time, Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and taking trips to the mountains and Florida with his wife.  He always took great pride and great enjoyment in being part of his children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments and activities.  He enjoyed working on cars and was always willing to help everyone including his children’s friends.

Jim is survived by his three children, Stephen J. (Sarah) Fetters, Stacey F. Keith and Sherri F. Wisdo (Robert); six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by six brothers and sisters.

Due to the Covid pandemic, services will be private with the family.  A link to view the live stream will be available at the top of the memorial webpage on the funeral home website.
