Richard Edward Robinson, 85, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of West Chester, PA and Swansboro, NC, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at his residence. He was the husband of Joan Cox Robinson, sharing 64 years of marriage.
Born in Jersey City, NJ on March 6, 1937, he was the son of the late Edward and Grace MacGregor Robinson. Richard graduated Plainfield High School (NJ) and later worked in sales for Entenmann’s for many years until retirement. He was also a proud Veteran of the United States Army.
After retirement, he traveled extensively across the US with his wife and was an avid fisherman and golfer. Known as “The Birdman of Cedar Point,” Richard was known for sculpting birds and other art out of unique materials.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and sister Barbara Cox, and survived by his wife and three children, Carol Robinson, Nancy Robinson Cordaro (Anthony), and Richard J Robinson, grandchildren Alexa Cordaro Travis (Jason) and Kyle Cordaro and great-grandson Luke Travis, sisters Martha Davis (Ken) and Peggy Quiggle (Jack), brother Edward Robinson (Barbara), and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 22, 2022 at 11 AM at James Terry Funeral Home, 736 E Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335. Viewing will be from 9:45 – 10:45 AM prior to the service. Interment will take place at Philadelphia Memorial Park.
