Loving wife, mother and grandmother, Rita Anne Fitzgerald passed away on October 8, 2021. She was born in Pittsburgh in 1930 and attended Oakland Catholic High School before working in the admissions department at the University of Pittsburgh. It was there she met her devoted husband, Clyde Fitzgerald, who was the love of her life. They were married in 1951. They and their children spent the majority of their lives in Berwyn, where Rita volunteered with the local PTA and church. She was a devout Catholic, who enjoyed attending mass and praying the Rosary daily. Rita and Clyde spent countless hours wandering the beautiful pathways of Longwood Gardens, often with grandchildren in tow, enjoying all the beauty it has to offer.
Rita is survived by her husband, Clyde Fitzgerald and all of her children: Mary Russell (Steve), Julie Wells (Brian), David Fitzgerald (Julie); Carol McLain (Craig) and twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Church, 120 St. Elizabeth Drive, Chester Springs. Family and friends will be received from 8:45-9:45 a.m.
Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, Coatesville.
