Thomas Downing Roberts

Thomas Downing Roberts, 93, of Downingtown, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Chester County Hospital.  He was the beloved husband of Barbara Hansel Roberts, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Chandler P. and Ethel Thomas Roberts.

Tom graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Finance in 1950 and then went on to own and operate the Chandler P. Roberts & Son Insurance Agency in Downingtown.  He was a past president of the Downingtown Chamber of Commerce and was a long-time member of St. James Episcopal Church in Downingtown.

In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his children, Thomas Scott Roberts, John Craig Roberts (Ellen) and Sarah Ellen Roberts; three grandchildren, Craig L. Troisi, Catherine Ulrick and Suzanne Levin and by one great granddaughter, Eliza Levin. He was predeceased by a sister, Ellen Ann Roberts.

Services will be held privately with the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. James Episcopal Church, 409 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335.
