Tribute

Warren J. “Bud” Hanna, Sr., 82, of Coatesville, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Brandywine Hospital.  He was the beloved husband of Marguerite J. Davis Hanna, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Warren A. Hanna and Suzanna Edwards Hanna.

Warren was a man of many talents, skills, and abilities as well as a strong devotion to his children, foster children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, church and work places.

Warren was south Philly born and raised and let all who came into contact with him know about his heritage. Warren lived his life with great joy and shared it with all those around him as including his coworkers and employees at Wyeth, Kohl’s, and most recently the American Music Theater. Warren also made sure anyone who knew him also knew about his love for Jesus Christ and the church. Warren expressed his love for the Lord through singing and serving in the Seniors Ministry as well as other forms of leadership in his church. While always a constant family man, Warren specifically lived his life of retirement for his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as he was consistently attending sporting events, musicals, school events, and church meetings. If you experienced any time with Warren at his home over the past 50 years, you knew that he loved his yard more than most things and that he loved to show it to his family. Warren could tell you about any flower you saw and what purpose it served because he knew that his Creator had a purpose for all things. Warren walked the paths of his yard hand in hand with his children, foster children (over 100 of them), grandchildren and great grandchildren simply to be with them and see them grow, just as his flowers did each year. No matter who you were, if you needed a seat at the table, Warren offered it to you – and there was always a cold Pepsi waiting at your seat. Above all else, Warren loved to spend time at the most magical place on earth – Walt Disney World. Beginning in the 90’s, Warren and his wife bought into the Disney Vacation Club and it was all about Disney from there. An annual vacation to the Walt Disney World resort was how the family always came together and enjoyed the magic of a place that was for families – and Warren was nothing short of a kid at heart and was overjoyed to spend time with his family in a place that exuded magic and wonder.

Warren was always joyful, patient, kind, loving, and gracious to all he met. Warren never missed an opportunity to remind those whom he loved that he loved them and appreciated them. While he will be greatly missed, Warren led his family like Christ, to Christ, and for Christ and is surely resting in the arms of his Savior.

In addition to his wife, Warren is survived by his children, Warren J. Hanna, Jr. (Wendy), Wayne E. Hanna (Tracy) and Aimee D. Moore (Kirk); his son-in-law, Vern Murphy (Sherry); a brother, Russell E. Hanna (Lorraine); 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his daughter, Bethanne E. Murphy,
